At 2 p.m. via Zoom, Joyce Raimondo will discuss how the language of line is exemplified in Pollock's poured paintings and other modern artworks, and then lead a hands-on workshop requiring drawing supplies.

At 5 p.m. via Zoom, Philip Rylands of the Society of the Four Arts in Palm Beach, Fla., will talk about Charles Pollock, Jackson's oldest brother, who was a distinguished painter in his own right.

At 2 p.m. via Zoom, Joyce Raimondo will demonstrate how simple shapes communicate ideas and feelings in abstract art, after which participants can create their own abstract work using bold shapes.

At 5 p.m. via Zoom, Elizabeth Smith of the Helen Frankenthaler Foundation will discuss some of the artist's earliest works and how they enabled what was possible for other artists in the 1950s.

Texture in Art
At 2 p.m. via Zoom, Joyce Raimondo will show how Pollock and Krasner used texture in their art. Participants can collect textured materials, such as sand paper, corrugated paper, fabric, cotton balls, etc., and a stiff board or paper, glue, and scissors for use in creating a textured collage.

Make Your Mark
At 2 p.m. via Zoom, Joyce Raimondo will show how modern artists make their marks with unconventional tools. Participants can bring paint supplies and unusual tools such as sticks, forks, combs, rollers, sponges, etc.

At 4 p.m. via Zoom, artists can connect with fellow painters, writers, and others, and share their art.

Composition Speaks
At 2 p.m. via Zoom, Joyce Raimondo will discuss Pollock's groundbreaking allover compositions and how other modern artists arrange the elements in their paintings. She will then guide participants through exercises to sharpen their understanding of composition.
